Large Pama boring and milling machine machining a welded part

CNC machining of large weldments

Pama boring and milling up to 10 m / 5 t, plus milling and turning centres.

Welding moves steel. That is why bores, bearing seats and mounting faces of a welded frame are machined after welding. Our Pama floor-type boring and milling machine takes weldments up to 10 m long and 5 t, in one set-up where possible.

For smaller parts the plant runs about ten CNC machines: Pinnacle, Doosan, Awea and Lagun vertical machining centres, Leadwell and Mazak turning centres and conventional lathes for pins, bushes and spacers.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Why machine after welding instead of before?
Welding heat distorts the part. Machining after welding guarantees the distances and alignments between bores that the assembly needs.
